Job Description Summary

LLCC is hiring two Instructional Designers! Know anyone who might be interested in providing guidance and support to college faculty? Both positions will also be subject matter experts in the design and development of innovative and effective instructional content, experiences, tools, and strategies that advance the teaching and learning process.

As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break; 12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and starting with 15 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses. Staff can also enjoy free access to our on-campus fitness center. Starting salary is likely to be between $61,122 and $80,767 per year with an excellent benefits package. The person hired into this position will be placed within this range based on education, training, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience working in the instructional design/technology field/higher education.
  • Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models across all teaching and learning domains.
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting subject matter experts on the design, development, and delivery of instructional content.
  • Experience designing and developing course content using an online learning management system.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging digital learning trends and tools.
  • Experience integrating digital learning components into course content in all formats of instruction.
  • Proven knowledge of common authoring applications for the development of digital education content.
  • Knowledge of current regulations regarding web-based accessibility standards.

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • College-level teaching or training experience including online teaching/training experience.
  • Experience working with and instructing/training college-level faculty in both technology and pedagogical matters.
  • Experience working with and supporting others in the use of the Canvas learning management system.
  • An understanding of copyright laws and policies and how they relate to college instruction.
  • Knowledge of online course design standards (Quality Matters).
  • Knowledge of and ability to instruct course design based on universal design for learning (UDL) standards.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with others.

Position Salary

Starting salary is likely to be between $61,122 and $80,767 per year with an excellent benefits package.
