JOB SUMMARY

Assists the Head Coach in recruiting high school seniors and current college students for a 2025 lacrosse team. This position reports to the Head Coach. The job may become an Assistant Coaching position if a team is successfully recruited for the 2024-2025 academic year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Visit high school lacrosse games in Carroll and surrounding counties
  • Coordinate all visits with the Head lacrosse coach
  • Attend lacrosse club games or events
  • Make phone, email, or personal contact with prospective recruits
  • Follow state, regional, local and NJCAA college regulations governing the athletic program
  • Attend staff development and/or other professional activities to improve coaching performance
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

    • At least two years’ experience as a player at the high school, club, or college level.
    • An outgoing personality and ability to relate to high school and college-age players.
    • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Head Coach, student athletes and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Must be constructive, positive, cooperative, supportive and highly communicative.
  • Must have strong adaptive interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Recruiting experience at high school, club or college ranks.
  • Familiarity with the high school lacrosse community in Carroll County.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is normally light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Periodically, it requires standing for longer periods of time during presentations, etc. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

    • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
    • Visual Acuity - Ability to perceive or detect surroundings
    • Mental Acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand, and convey subject matter
    • Repetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


 

Travel to sports events/games for recruiting student athletes. Part-Time, Seasonal (March 15 – June 15), 10 hours per week.

 

College campus, direct contact with diverse students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications, complex software and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and College policies; and observance of traffic laws when/if driving College vehicles.
