Summary of Job Duties:
The adult education instructor provides instruction in College and Career Readiness Standards, English-as-a-Second Language, Computer Literacy, Basic Skills Upgrade, Workplace Instruction, Financial Literacy, Managed Enrollment Classes (math, reading, ESL), Distance Learning

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
• Enroll and conduct pre- and post- assessments of students
• Develop class lesson plans
• Engage student to develop an Individual Lesson Plan
• Provide instruction to students which can be in language, writing, math, science, reading, social
studies, ESL, computer literacy, financial literacy, workplace skills, distance learning
• Provide managed enrollment instruction as directed
• Refer students to the Program Director for ADA counseling
• Make required reports as needed
• Attend annual professional development activities.
• Refer students to agencies for various services
• Help with recruitment and retention activities
• Help maintain cleanliness and order of the class room and/or site location
• Attend staff meetings
• Document students’ Individual Learning Plan and students’ ADA accommodations
• Conduct mini-conferences with students to determine educational goals
• Maintain student attendance records and send to data management operator weekly


Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Arkansas Teaching Certification
Effective oral and written communication; Excellent interpersonal skills;
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills; takes initiative
Relevant experience in education;
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
Technology skills
