  • Provide general administration support, technical support, and operational support under the direction of the Project Manager to support the research activity and requirements for the projects at Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC)
  • Utilise your research administration and coordination to support project coordination
  • Full-time fixed term position for 12 months, with a Base Salary $79,717 + 17% superannuation

The Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC) celebrates a research approach that thinks and acts flexibly, aims to do more with less, embraces technology in health care, sees co-design and partnership as necessities for translation and impact, and consistently views its activities through the lens of value and equity. Their aim is to create, evaluate and apply innovative clinical and digital health approaches to reduce the burden of cardiometabolic and other chronic conditions. As such, we are seeking a Research Administration Officer to support maintaining project/clinical trial documentation related to WARC research studies, and to assist in data collection and other study related activities across multiple research projects.

The role is based at Westmead, and the incumbent will be expected to maintain a presence on site.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • prepare and coordinate documentation for ethics applications, monitoring support, assist with study start up, site recruitment, study close out and ongoing day to day administrative activities of the trial or project
  • assist in participant recruitments and data collection
  • prepare relevant material in collaboration with team members, maintain study records, perform all aspects of research work, and facilitate the efficient coordination and operational activities of the research project by providing strong support to ensure each project is prepared and runs smoothly.

  • excellent administrative and organisational skills to prioritise workload and work autonomously within a collaborative team
  • exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-day operational matters
  • the ability to take initiative and innovation in approach to problem solve independently.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
