Scope of Position
Provide set-up, tear down and technical assistance in the biology laboratories at the LC main (Godfrey) campus and at the N.O. Nelson (Edwardsville) campus. Courses will include, but are not limited to: General Biology, Botany, Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Human Biology. You will help maintain and grow the program capabilities of the Biology department.
Key Measurable Expectations
- Arrange lab set ups for lab activities and for lab-practical examinations in biology courses in consultation with biology instructors and the coordinator of the biology program.
- Arrange tear downs of activities and examinations in consultation with biology instructors and the biology coordinator.
- Be familiar with supplies and equipment in the biology laboratories including the sterilizer used for decontamination of microbiology lab equipment.
- Keep inventory and provide supply requests for biology labs on both campuses to the coordinator.
- Prepare necessary materials for labs, greenhouse work, photocopying, and investigation of new lab activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in biology related field
- Laboratory experience at the college level in biology preferred.
- Punctual and responsible work behavior.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the community college required.
