PT Corporate Faculty Business Law
Job Description
Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is seeking a Part Time Faculty member to teach business law to undergraduate business students. This course is part of the Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Administration program, which focuses on producing college graduates who understand business, operations, and decision making in the current technology driven environment. Topics taught in this course are 1) the nature of law, 2) the US Constitution, 3) the courts system, 4) business crimes and torts, 5) contracts, 6) business ethics, and 7) employment law.
As a part-time instructor you will be responsible for curriculum delivery, development, and classroom instruction, day-to-day program operations, for the purpose of guiding undergraduate students towards successful term-to-term progression and graduation. This individual will also engage with professional associations, businesses, and the local community to promote the visibility and stature of the program.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties may vary and other duties may be assigned.)
Provide instruction and tutoring to undergraduate business students
Develop courses and course modules on law and ethics
Work closely with other professors in building courses that integrate concepts of law and ethics
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Leader who can enhance education, research, and service missions of the university and department through effective communication and partnership
- Teaching experience with strong teaching evaluations
- A deep knowledge of the law
- Willingness to learn and improve at teaching at the college level
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited school
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar
- Current license to practice law
- Minimum two years of experience practicing law
- Experience teaching at the college level preferred
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Record of effective collaboration and teamwork
