VICE PRESIDENT, BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Position Summary: The Vice President of Brand Development for Memphis Brand is responsible for serving as the chief deputy to the President and CMO. They will help lead and advance all brand practices including research, strategy, marketing, communications, experiential and more, in close coordination and oversight of staff and partner agencies. Furthermore, this individual will lead Memphis Brand client relations, working on numerous client accounts across marketing services to provide exceptional coordination, service and success. Finally, this position will play a key role in the management of Memphis Brand as a non-profit organization, supporting community outreach and partnerships, budget management, fundraising, and board relations.
Key Responsibilities
BRAND MANAGEMENT
- Serve as direct deputy to the President/Chief Marketing Officer, providing counsel, and leading organization through collaboration.
- Develop and implement comprehensive and integrated brand strategies aligned with organizational objectives including brand growth, talent recruitment and retention, economic development, tourism, and civic pride.
- Oversee and manage staff with key responsibilities in marketing, communications, and brand operations.
- Support management of key stakeholder, agency and vendor relationships including performance marketing, public relations, and market research.
- Proactively foster new and influential partnerships across the community and beyond that propel brand equity, participation, and growth.
- Manage budgets as assigned with a focus on maximum return on investment.
- Provide comprehensive and timely reporting on initiatives with deep reliance on data.
- Be well versed in emerging marketing strategies and platforms, and proactively innovate and create opportunities for the brand.
CLIENT MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the execution of each client account scope of work inclusive of brand strategy, research, marketing, communications, events and more.
- Serve as direct liaison to client partners and foster relationships built on reliability, performance, and results.
- Support day-to-day client account activities including reporting data metrics, timelines, project deliverables, budget management, and responding to timely client needs.
- Lead regularly scheduled client meetings, collaborating with team members to ensure agendas, deliverables and next steps are timely and consistent.
- Organize and run weekly internal meetings with Memphis Brand staff to review client work, assignments, and progress against stated goals and objectives.
- Coordinate with members of each client team and integrated agencies to ensure client deliverables are complete, deadlines are met, and to provide training where needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of eight years of experience in management and brand development including related fields of marketing and communications with a proven track record of data driven success.
- Demonstrated attention to detail with experience and success in managing clients, projects and budgets with a deep dedication to efficiency and quantifiable success.
- Experience in organizational development of staff, partners, and agencies to achieve seamless coordination and data driven results.
- Deep knowledge and experience of Memphis accompanied by vast relationships across the community.
- Track record of proactively seeking and establishing mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Experience and interest in non-profit management, fundraising and board relations.
- Qualified professional references.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing client relationships. Agency experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

- Competency with marketing tools, CRM platforms, project management software, and data analysis tools.
- Forward-thinking mindset to proactively identify and implement emerging marketing strategies and platforms.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Full-time position with a competitive annual salary range of $95,000–$105,000, based on experience.
