Position Overview

Overall responsibility for all payroll functions including payroll processing; tax compliance, deposits, and reconciliations; and salary and various benefit expense budgets. Mentor and guide Payroll Department staff. Responsible for table maintenance for the Banner HR system ensuring compliance with all tax and reporting requirements. Provide leadership and guidance on all regulatory matters and system upgrades. Other assignments as needed. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of full-time payroll experience with preparing reconciliation and tax reporting.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
•  Knowledge and/or experience working with Banner highly preferred 
• Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population at all levels.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service and time management skills.
• Proficient in the software Zoom and ADP or other payroll systems.
• Tech-savvy
• Maintain resilience and a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment, effectively handling challenging situations with professionalism at all times.
• Demonstrate flexibility and availability to work weekends as needed to meet business demands.
• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• Supervisory experience
