ESSENTIAL POSIITION FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists management with program development and implementation of various programs to include, but not limited to Senior Academy, Early College Experiences, Summer Bridge Program, and the Scott Pathway Academy.
2. Implements recruitment strategies defined by management to obtain and maintain a minimum number of Scott Pathway Scholars.
3. Creates, coordinates, and leads the Alumni Network of Scott Pathway Scholars.
4. Communicates programming event information, program data and other information as requested to the Scott Foundation.
5. Provides leadership and guidance to assigned staff, ensuring they meet program standards and scholarship outcomes.
6. Provides guidance to assigned staff on navigating internal processes and working collaboratively across college departments to create solutions for potential barriers, system improvements and to provide holistic support to meet each student’s unique needs.
7. Provides proactive and intrusive support to an assigned Scott Pathway Scholars cohort.
8. Manages program implementation, retention, internships, job placement, tracking, and reporting outcomes of assigned Scott Pathway Scholars cohort.
9. Provides structured opportunities and strategic touchpoints to engage individually with assigned Scott Pathway Scholars to proactively identify and resolve potential barriers to success, create improvement strategies, and address academic and non-academic areas of concern.
10. Prepares scholarship students for interactions with partners, family, foundation staff, and other professional contacts.
11. Serves as positive role model that represents the College and the Foundation in a professional manner.
12. Serves as a catalyst for positive change and exhibits the values of a lifelong learner, a giver not a taker, and strives to exceed expectations.
13. Attends work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
2. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college supported systems.
3. Excellent communication skills including active listening.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-orientated environment.
7. Ability to demonstrate cooperation and professionalism while maintaining patience and understanding in stressful situations.
8. Ability to understand and apply best practices in college and career preparation.
9. Ability to understand the strategic role of programming, career identity, and student aid in student
1. recruitment, persistence, and completion.
10. Ability to learn of the many facets of MCC, Avenue Scholars, and the Suzanne & Walter Scott Foundation.
11. Ability to effectively coach and mentor students and staff in a positive and professional manner.
12. Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
13. Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.

Salary/Hourly Rate $66,038 minimum Department Scholarships
The Scott Pathway Assistant Director oversees the coordination, programming, and implementation of the Walter Scott, Jr. Pathway Scholarship Program at the assigned campus(es). The Assistant Director ensures the team follows best practices in student development, retention, and success. This position will identify and participate in collaborative outreach experiences with industry, high schools, and community organizations that promote awareness of the Walter Scott, Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship Program. The Assistant Director works directly with Industries that align with the College’s programs to increase the number of students involved in internships, sponsorships, and work-based learning opportunities that lead to employment in high demand, high wages, and high-skill careers.

Bachelor degree or equivalent with five (5) years of full-time experience in recruiting, outreach, student support, career placement, or other related fields.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered
Preferred Qualifications
Master Degree preferred.
