Position Summary

Responsible for San Diego coordination Human Resources duties, which include administer of HR practices, payroll, benefits maintenance, time and attendance systems, reports, TSAMM, and Worker Comp.

Essential Functions

  • Preparation and submission through TSAMM of Employee Personnel Action Notices (PANs) for New Hires, Terminations, Salary/Status Change
  • Onboarding new employees and ensuring all new hires attend Divisional New Hire orientation.
  • Maintaining all employee files on site, conducting audits as needed to ensure compliance
  • Assist DHQ HR compliance Coordinator in processing Workers Compensation claims.
  • Ensuring Staff files are current and that staff files at site match with files at DHQ.
  • In partnership with line supervisors, ensuring accuracy of payroll hours and submitting completed payroll report to DHQ Finance.
  • Work with DHQ HR to check for updates related to employee issues, TSA Policy and Procedure changes, and communicating the same to staff.
  • Responding to staff on HR related inquiries and directing such through appropriate channels
  • Assist DHQ-HR with updating Program Director and Managers on employee related matters of deficiencies and/or in need of corrective action plan.
  • Assist DHQ-HR in gathering fact-finding information when necessary.
  • Preparing and submitting job posting requisitions to DHQ
  • Work with DHQ Talent Acquisition coordinator with recruitment needs throughout SD coordination.
  • Working with DHQ HR/Finance staff to correct any payroll discrepancies.
  • Act as first point of contact for all of San Diego Coordination HR general questions and concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of an HR department.
  • On-time regular attendance is a must

PAY RATE: $30.00-$35.00/hr.

Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AA degree or two years' experience in an HR position preferred
  • PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, (excel, word, etc )
  • Excellent grammar with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Type 35wpm or more
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish speaking preferred.

  • Possess initiative, adaptability and responsibility to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to meet deadlines, handle figures and work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to function in a confidential manner and self-discipline to perform repetitive tasks without lowering quality of work.
Qualifications

Education
Associates (preferred)

Experience
Excellent grammar with good verbal and written communication skills. (preferred)
Bi-lingual, English and Spanish speaking (preferred)
Type 35wpm or more (required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, (excel, word, etc ) (required)
Two years' experience in an HR position (preferred)
