Summary of Position

The Training Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development and scheduling of Pre-Service and On-Going Training programs for caregivers, residential providers, and DCYF staff. This role ensures the continuous review and improvement of curriculum and training facilitators, collaborates on the creation and revision of training materials, and manages the logistics and record-keeping associated with training delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Training Development and Scheduling:
    • Oversee the development and scheduling of Pre-Service and On-Going Training programs.
    • Ensure training programs meet the needs of caregivers, residential providers, and DCYF staff.
  2. Curriculum Review and Facilitator Management:
    • Conduct ongoing reviews of training curriculum and facilitators to ensure high-quality content and delivery.
    • Collaborate on the revision and creation of new training materials to meet evolving needs.
  3. Facilitator Recruitment and Coordination:
    • Recruit and hire skilled training facilitators.
    • Coordinate training logistics, including dates, times, and locations.
  4. Record-Keeping and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records related to training attendance, participation, cancellations, rescheduling, and delivery.
    • Ensure all records are up-to-date and accessible for reporting and compliance purposes.
  5. Technology and Online Learning:
    • Utilize technology and online applications to support registration efforts and the transfer of learning.
    • Apply best practices in adult learning and online learning to enhance training accessibility and effectiveness.
  6. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure training needs are met and aligned with contractual obligations.
    • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to training programs.
Work Environment:
  • This position may require occasional travel to training locations.
  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate training schedules.

Other minimum qualifications

Master’s degree and two years’ experience in industrial or educational training programs, or Bachelor’s and 4 years. Must have extensive knowledge of the NH child welfare system and supervisory experience required.

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using technology and online applications for training purposes.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and training delivery is preferred.

  • Collaborate on the revision and creation of new training materials to meet evolving needs and incorporate feedback.
  • Provide direction to adjunct staff to include performance reviews handle disciplinary actions, functional supervision and training opportunities
