Position Summary:
 
Director of Marketing & Strategic Communications
 
Job Description
Lead the development and implementation of public relations strategies within the overall communications and marketing initiatives in an effort to raise the visibility and knowledge of the College. The position will support the Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations and the campus presidents in directing marketing efforts for the district and specific campuses.
Job Duties
  • Develop and implement college wide communications and marketing strategies for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase HCC’s visibility on local, state and national levels via traditional and social media.
  • Oversee communication activities to support the college’s five campuses to build positive community partners
  • Manage media relations including pitching, filling media requests, creating new publicity strategies and writing press releases.
  • Work closely with web team to create interactive communications collateral including college website and online newsroom.
  • Develop communications strategies including advertising and recruitment campaigns.
  • Serve as public relations counselor to senior leadership.
  • Foster the development of the online community through various communications platforms to increase audience interaction among multiple social media platforms.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the growth of the community and analyze, review and report on effectiveness of new initiatives.
  • Serve as a brand advocate of the community and as a social media advocate within the organization, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Assist in fulfillment of public information requests.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, advanced certification, and at least seven years of prior-related work experience.
