    Position Title: Educational Technician, Chemistry/Physics (Temp FT)

    Performance Evaluation: The successful applicant for this position will be required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment medical examination and performance evaluation.

    Salary: Dependent upon educational credentials, experience, and contractual guidelines for rank assignment and salary placement.

    General Summary: Prepare and set up labs for the Chemistry/Physics Science programs. Support faculty and students in the science department.

    Requirements: Associates degree (Bachelor's preferred) in the sciences; working knowledge of equipment and supplies common to science laboratories and safety measures for maintenance of science laboratories; the ability to plan, organize, stock, and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment for science laboratories; experience in laboratory instruction preferred.

    Duties:
    • Maintain systematized order and cleanliness of the Chemistry/Physics laboratories and stockroom facilities.
    • Maintain inventory and written records of all laboratory equipment and supplies used in the science laboratories with help from Department head and faculty.
    • Assemble, maintain and deliver equipment and supplies for science laboratory use by students and faculty for instructional demonstrations.
    • Repair broken or damaged equipment; arrange for repair of equipment by outside agencies when necessary.
    • Order supplies in a timely manner in accordance with faculty specifications.
    • Properly manage Chemistry/Physics waste for disposal and arrange for removal of obsolete or irreparable equipment.
    • Assist students in accessing software in lab.
    • Purchase supplies from petty cash and provide receipts for petty cash allotments, when appropriate.
    • Maintain purchase requisition file and notify department chairman concerning errors, backorders, and incoming supplies.
    • Assist faculty member in laboratory instruction as appropriate.
    • Assist Department Head with operating and capital budget requests.
    • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

    Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check. The GWCC Marketing Director is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the strategy for all marketing and communication channels of the College. This role supports the missions and visions of both GWCC and the Maricopa County Community College District. The Director oversees all activities related to public information, advertising campaigns, public relations, out-of-home, and social media initiatives. They provide leadership in crafting and executing the College's strategic marketing, public relations, and branding plans, ensuring alignment with District requirements and messaging. This position is responsible for enhancing GWCC’s brand awareness and recognition within the external community to generate leads, increase enrollment, and improve retention; highlights and advances the programs and services of the College.
 

Applicants must provide a marketing portfolio that showcases successful, comprehensive marketing strategies developed for previous employers or clients. The portfolio should include target audience analysis, positioning, messaging, channel selection, campaign artwork (if applicable), budget allocation, tactics for implementation across various channels, and final outcomes and recommendations in a presentation format. Portfolios will be reviewed during the screening process, and applicants will be expected to discuss portfolios during 2nd interviews (portfolios will be scored by committee after the conclusion of 2nd interviews).

Essential Functions


 
45%- Develops and administers college-level marketing and advertising strategies; adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing conditions; manages the development of college-level marketing plans, advertising, social media optimization, CRM strategy, advertising procurement, brand management, web development, web content review, content marketing, email marketing, SMS marketing, search engine optimization, new marketing technology, digital advertising, social media management. Directs marketing team that executes strategic direction through all aspects of marketing and communications, including workload and prioritization; provides leadership and conveys the vision and values of the college to staff.
 

25% - Manages all data and analytics related to marketing, including Hubspot (CRM) data, Google Analytics, social media data, digital advertising analytics, etc. Oversees marketing budget and monitors expenditures related to marketing initiatives. Responsibility includes developing marketing budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
 

15% - Leads all public relations initiatives, including preparing and distributing press releases. Partners with the college's instructional and support areas to create and share positive news for internal and external audiences; responsible for crisis communication in collaboration with MCCCD's communications team and internal stakeholders.
 

15% - Collaborates with other units/departments to develop clear communication and promotional strategies; informs and consults with executive leadership regarding strategy, outcomes and trends, and offers suggestions and insights for continuous improvement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


 
A Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication or related field and five (5) years of marketing and public relations experience that includes developing, managing and implementing marketing campaign strategies and objectives and two (2) years of management and supervisory experience.

An Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication or related field and seven (7) years of marketing and public relations experience that includes developing, managing and implementing marketing campaign strategies and objectives and two (2) years of management and supervisory experience.
 

OR
 

A High School Diploma/GED from a regionally accredited institution and nine (9) years of marketing and public relations experience that includes developing, managing and implementing marketing campaign strategies and objectives and two (2) years of management and supervisory experience.

Desired Qualifications


 
A. Experience developing and leading data-driven strategic marketing plans with tactical solutions and public relations initiatives
 

B. Experience leading a marketing team and overseeing the development and execution of the marketing strategy including working with external contractors
 

C. Experience utilizing multiple marketing technology tools that leverage data and analytics in decision-making, such as Google Analytics, HubSpot (or comparable CRM), social media, or other digital advertising analytics to enhance marketing and diversity efforts
 

D. Experience with optimizing online content through social media management, web design/content management, email marketing, and digital advertising
 

E. Experience with managing public relations communication in an enterprise level organization and/or public sector
 

F. Master’s degree or higher in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or closely related field
