Advance Senior Analyst
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for MULTIPLE Advance Senior Analysts who will be a key support to our operations in San Diego California.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Candidates will Support the Planning effort for repairs, installations, and alterations to Ships and craft in a maritime environment.
  • All systems and equipment aboard Ships and marine craft are included, except nuclear power plants. The candidate provides direct management and supervision of all major functions, disciplines, or segments of the program that provide U.S. Navy surface Ship Repair Items and Ship Alterations including work definition, material identification and cost using drawings, technical documents, NAVSEA Standard Items, and physical Ship checks. Reports to an Advanced Planning Manager (APM)
JOB DUTIES:
  • Five to seven years managing U.S. Navy depot level surface Ship maintenance planning and estimating functions and/or availability work package development.
  • Preferred experience includes management, supervisory or production controller roles at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair Command, Regional Maintenance Center, Navy Central Planning Activity, Planning for Engineering and Repair Activity, and public or private shipyards at the tradesman or shop level. Experience as a Naval Supervising Authority Project Manager is also preferred. Direct report to the Advance Planning Manager (APM) must have at least 5-7+ years of related experience.
  • Junior-Level: Three to five years managing U.S. Navy depot level surface Ship maintenance planning and estimating functions and/or availability work package development.
  • Preferred experience includes management, supervisory or production controller roles at Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair Command, Regional Maintenance Center, Navy Central Planning Activity, Planning for Engineering and Repair Activity, and public or private shipyards at the tradesman or shop level.
  • Experience as a Naval Supervising Authority Project Manager is also preferred. Direct report to the Advance Planning Manager (APM) must have at least 3-5+ years of related experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLSETS:
  • Must be familiar with working in a SUPSHIP/Naval shipyard environment including both planning and engineering organization.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
  • U.S. Navy surface Ship experience preferred.
  • In-depth experience in Ship modernization and maintenance practices is strongly desired.
  • Experience with use of the Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) is desired.
  • Experience with Ship maintenance providers including SUPSHIP/naval shipyards and Regional Maintenance Centers desired.
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work on and climb US Navy Ship ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Must be able to conduct Ship Checks as required/desired by Management which may include travel, extended work hours and weekend/holiday work.
  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States (must have a valid US passport not due to expire within one year of hire).
EDUCATION:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering or science field, or eight (8) years of experience in the Naval Marine Engineering field holding responsible engineering related positions, with successful completion of naval technical training schools such as the Naval Academy, a Merchant Marine Academy, or Military Class "A" or "C" school, which together with the experience will give the equivalency of a BS degree.

Pay Range: $70,000 - $78,000 per year
