Vertex Pharmaceuticals is a leading pharmaceutical company that strikes at the core of serious diseases to change people's lives. We are seeking a skilled and motivated .NET Developer with biotechnology experience to join our Discovery Core Applied Technology [DCAT] team in San Diego, CA. The DCAT team is responsible for designing and developing automation and informatic solutions that accelerate and scale the drug discovery process.

This is a 5 day/week ONSITE position at our San Diego research site.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a best practices .NET framework for a group of engineers/developers to program in. This includes best practices for source code management, user interfaces, security, data processing, use of JavaScript objects, etc.
  • Develop, implement, and support your own applications within the best practices framework.
  • Develop integration pathways to other solutions outside of the DCAT framework like AWS applications.
  • Utilize your expertise in biotechnology to address specific industry challenges and requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 1+ yrs of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack .NET Developer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies.
  • Previous work experience within the biotechnology industry
  • Significant experience in developing database driven user interfaces using .NET C#, and JavaScript, with a strong preference for expertise in Oracle stored functions and procedures.
  • Experience in API development and data visualization
  • Demonstrated strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay Range:

$80,000 - $120,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
