DESCRIPTION:
 Edmonds College is seeking a Business Management Tenure Track Faculty member.

This position is enabled by the Our Colleges, Our Future Act of 2021 to guarantee equitable access and educational success for all, particularly for students from communities of color and low-income communities. The college seeks faculty who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, can adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can employ student-centered approaches and instructional technology effectively, and work collaboratively with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, inclusion, and student learning and success.

As a Business Management Faculty Member, you will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in various Business Management courses, including, but not limited to, Principles of Management, Human Relations in Organizations, Retail Management, Principles of Marketing, Leadership, Human Resources, Customer Relations, Sustainable Business Practices, Facilitation Skills, E-Business, and Project Management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing an inclusive and equitable curriculum, creating and developing new certificate and program options, preparing teaching materials, developing and assessing learning outcomes to evaluate student work, assigning grades, maintaining required records, and advising and consulting with students. Other essential responsibilities include department head duties; participating in achieving the college¿s mission and goals; upholding the college¿s values; college governance via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities (including employee orientation and college compliance training); and personal and program evaluation. The teaching assignment may include early morning, late afternoon, evening, weekend, and/or online classes. This tenure-track position reports to the Dean of Business and Continuing Education. It has an anticipated start date in September 2024 and will have a 9-month service period.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 


  • Master¿s degree in Management or Business Administration with an emphasis in Management or a related field.
  • Three years of management/supervision or equivalent industry experience.
  • One year of documented teaching or training experience.
  • Excellent verbal, problem-solving, critical thinking, writing, and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and respect for a diverse community college environment comprised of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.

 


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 


Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and requires standing or sitting for extended periods. Faculty are required to use a computer in the work environment.

 


COMPENSATION:

 


The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education and related experience. The current range is $81,219 to $82,551 annually for a 172-day appointment, with progressive increases to $98,518.56 annually. The college provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
