DESCRIPTION

Business Administration is structured with five work categories, designed to support all of CORE Services: Administration, Finance, Management, Development, and Strategy. These disciplines work in concert to drive structured performance and support the pursuit of operational goals across a division of 7 departments.

This position is designed to support a variety of programs and processes within CORE Services Business Administration and across all CORE Services areas, to include Emergency Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition Services, Facilities, Health Campus Development, Security, and all service lines within.

This position primarily serves an analyst function and will perform a variety of duties, including, but not limited to data analysis, report generation, program analysis, decision support, information presentation, and strategic planning.

This position will undertake specific process analysis work in the form a Black Belt project through UCSD Extension.

This position will also join collaborative projects with departments across the UCSD Health landscape, including Finance, Supply Chain, Transformational Health, Information Services, Strategy, Communications, Campus, and others.

Successful candidates will exhibit strong communication skills across a variety of mediums and platforms, a desire and intuition for problem-solving, an interest in learning, and the ability to collaborate across various functions and UCSD Health departments to achieve organizational objectives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
  • In-depth knowledge of business intelligence functions, advanced analytics, industry standards and best practices.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in internal databases, BI applications, tools, and systems.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly-complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professional and technical staff.
  • Ability to serve as an advanced technical leader providing advice, counsel, and analysis on business intelligence issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other office software.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certification in Project Management, Program Management, Lean Six Sigma and/or Change Management.
  • Experience working in healthcare or construction.
  • Experience working in a heavily matrixed organization.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
