Position Purpose
The Director of Prevention Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Prevention Services Department. The position holds primary accountability for assuring the implementation of an integrated, prevention programing aimed at reducing new HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infections, providing education, targeted testing for populations at-risk for acquiring HIV, and effectively linking clients to appropriate clinical services, including HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) treatment, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP). Additional responsibilities include development and administration of high-quality programing for target populations, program evaluation, grant development and management, budget oversight, and performance management, as well as community relations and partner collaborations. The Director works collaboratively with other Vivent Health staff to promote Vivent Health’s mission and vision, and our integrated care delivery system – the HIV Medical Home.
Essential Functions
- Provide direction and oversight for the operations of the Prevention Services Department to ensure innovative and effective programs which comply with Vivent Health’s mission and vision, strategic plan, and all service delivery standards. Assure that all prevention interventions and activities are consistent with federal, state, and local regulations and funder requirements.
- Provide direction for Prevention Services programs including staff supervision, budget management, and contract management.
- Develop, implement, and direct effective HIV prevention programs targeting populations at highest risk for acquiring HIV, in accordance with behavioral and epidemiological research and findings and best practices.
- Implement and monitor prevention objectives and standards to achieve greater quality and assure alignment in service delivery with Vivent Health prevention services.
- Ensure the integration of prevention services and initiatives into the local operations of Vivent Health Medical Centers to assure successful linkage to clinical services, including HIV care, PrEP, and PEP.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget for Prevention Services programs and activities, assuring that Vivent Health maximizes available revenue from all public and private sources, and that programs operate within set financial parameters.
- Work with corporate partners to ensure timely submission of program work plans, CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) efforts, program evaluation, and productivity reports in compliance with contract requirements and/or internal administrative needs.
- Develop and enhance collaborations with community providers, State HIV/AIDS Program staff, national prevention efforts, funders, and other relevant entities to ensure access to professional development and cross-community collaboration.
- Serve as a member of Vivent Health’s senior management team. Participate in government relations and fund development initiatives as required and attend Vivent Healthevents. Serve as a Vivent Health spokesperson, as requested by the Public Relations staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science, healthcare administration or similar, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience in health care, specialized populations, diversity initiatives and HIV treatment and prevention.
- One (1) years’ experience working in HIV prevention or related field.
- Five (5) years’ experience working with those living with HIV or at risk of acquiring HIV in a social service or medical setting.
- Five (5) years’ experience with supervising staff both onsite and remote.
- Three (3) years' experience supervising staff.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIV/STI care management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, TEAMS).
- Working knowledge of Spanish (bilingual) is a plus.
Salary:
Starting at $85,000/annually (Depending on Experience)
