Job Title: Tohono O’odham Language and Culture Instructor

Reports To: Academic Dean

Status: Full-time/ Regular/ Salary

Salary: $47,701 - $60,791

SUMMARY: The Instructor will develop and teach courses in Tohono O’odham language, culture, and history. Participation in the faculty senate and committee work is required. Assignments may include evening and weekend classes in both face-to-face and online formats. Instructor will support the T-So:Son (Our Core Values) including T-Wohocudadag – Our Beliefs, T-Apedag – Our Well-Being, T-Pi:k Elida – Our Deepest Respect and I-We:mta – Working Together.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Instructs students in Tohono O’odham language, culture, and history.
  • Teach 15 semester hour credits each semester;
  • Be student-centered and focused on student learning outcomes;
  • Maintain currency in language studies, indigenous history, and studies of O’odham history and culture;
  • Facilitate study sessions, workshops and advising meetings with students to include conducting office hours;
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and in other college and community activities;
  • Prepare and submit timely grade reports on student performance as scheduled or required;
  • Perform other related duties.
