EnSafe is currently accepting applications for an Environmental Project Engineer or Project Geologist. Successful candidates will have 5-10 years of experience in the environmental consulting field to join our team working from one of our San Diego or Long Beach, CA offices.

What We Are Looking for

An Environmental Project Engineer or Geologist who is driven to contribute to a wide range of projects ranging from site investigations to regulatory compliance tasks, feasibility studies, and remedial design and/or implementation for both common and emerging (i.e., PFAS) contaminants. What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the management and support of private, commercial, state, and federal projects.
  • Lead technical teams working across multiple offices throughout the country, problem-solving, preparing plans and specifications, and meeting with clients and subcontractors.
  • Develop Work Plans and/or Sampling and Analysis Plans and coordinate investigation activities (soil, groundwater, indoor air, soil gas, and stormwater sampling).
  • Projects include implementation of soil and groundwater investigations, in situ/ex-situ groundwater remediation design and implementation; soil remediation system design and implementation; and remediation system operation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Conducting site investigation activities (sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, vapor intrusion, soil gas, drinking water, and building materials)
  • Provide environmental compliance support to senior regulatory specialists, including data collection for permitting and/or registration, data analysis, regulatory compliance evaluation, and assessment.
  • Work with staff to prepare proposals and evaluate contractor bids.
  • Provide oversight to teams during field activities and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead development and review of technical documents and reports.
  • Oversee the quality assurance/quality control of deliverables about projects and tasks self-managed, as well as projects and tasks managed by others.
  • Work well with dynamic project teams and mentor junior staff.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil, Chemical, Geology, or related Environmental degree.
  • Preferred P.E or P.G. Certification.
  • 5-10 Years of relevant experience in the field of environmental assessment/remediation.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in investigations and response actions related to perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • HAZWOPER training and certification.
  • Knowledge or experience in RCRA and CERCLA processes (RI/FS, RD/RA, ROD, LTM) and documentation.
  • Experience with federal projects and/or working with NAVFAC Pacific and/or Southwest a plus.
  • Understanding of federal facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft program products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to travel to support ongoing environmental projects.
