Description:
National Park College is currently seeking a full time Human Resources Generalist responsible for the daily functions of the human resources department including recruiting and onboarding, administering benefits, employee engagement events, and enforcing company policies and practices. The salary range for this position is $42,000-$46,000, depending on experience.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance for employability, administering benefits, and necessary training for all employees.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in human resources or a related field
  • Experience in Higher education administration preferred
  • Experience with Paycor and/People Soft preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated skill to work with a variety of computer software, database management, employee management software applications and technologically proficient in common office desktop software, and collaborative cloud platform.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Prolonged periods of standing at times
  • Prolonged screen time
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
