THOR Solutions is seeking a motivated junior/mid-level Human Resources Administrative Assistant to provide support services at Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) in San Diego, CA. In this role, you'll support the NIWC Code 81500 New Professionals Program team in a variety of administrative tasking. An ideal candidate will possess prior administrative experience obtained in a US Navy/DoD environment.

Typical Responsibilities include:
  • Personnel Coordination:
    • Maintain a daily personnel muster list. Identify and locate individuals who have not checked in. Archive muster data in the NIWC Hub.
    • Review personnel leave requests for accuracy, coordinate corrections, and submit to customer for approval.
    • Correspond with participants and stakeholders of the New Professionals Program, providing general assistance and support for a variety of requests. As required, escalate requests to the NMCI helpdesk system for additional troubleshooting.
    • Send out muster, timekeeping, scheduling, and deadline correspondence via email and other platforms.
  • New Hire Orientation & Training:
    • Generate, route, track, and store electronic folders and documentation for incoming new hires in the NIWC Hub and other systems.
    • Coordinate new hire scheduling, tours, and training events.
    • Prepare physical and electronic documentation ahead of new hire start.
    • Track new hire progress through various milestones and requirements.
    • Physically lead new hire groups through initial orientation and training events.
    • Present timekeeping training to new hires.
    • Track attendance, completion certificates, and other artifacts related to new hire training.
  • Attend team meetings and provide highlights or assist with specific tasks as requested.
  • Perform various other administrative duties as needed.
Location: Hybrid. ~1 day/week onsite at Naval Base Point Loma, and the remainder may be flex/telework. Position may require additional regular onsite days, up to full time onsite, based on contract & customer requirements.

Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.

Schedule: California Alternate Work Week schedule. Mondays - Thursdays 9 hours daily, and Fridays alternate between 8 hours or 0 hours.

Target Pay Range: $25.24 - 26.44/hour.

Security Clearance Eligibility Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim Secret clearance (highly preferred), or be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance as a precondition to hire.

TypicalKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
    • Other degrees, relevant business or vocational training, or relevant military experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least two (2) years of recent, relevant experience in human resources administration or a similar field.
    • Experience gained in a US Navy/DoD environment is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in common productivity, including the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • An ideal candidate will have experience with Atlassian Confluence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
