EnSafe is currently accepting applications for an Environmental Project Manager, with 5-10 years of experience in the environmental consulting field located in our San Diego or Long Beach, CA office.

What We Are Looking for

An Environmental Project Manager, environmental scientist, or engineer, who is driven to contribute to a wide range of projects, acting as a Phase I ESA assessor, project manager, and reliable peer reviewer. What you will be doing:

The successful candidate should have a proven ability to navigate local, state, and federal regulations combined with the ability to lead labor/material estimates, proposals, and business development. Develop and expand existing market connections/clients. Areas of business include:

  • Performing and managing Phase I/II environmental site assessments. Provide peer review for Phase I ESAs.
  • Conducting site investigation activities (sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, indoor air, soil vapor, drinking water, and building materials).
  • Preparing environmental compliance reports by local, state, and federal requirements (e.g., RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA)
  • General Compliance:
    1. Hazardous waste requirements
    2. SPCC requirements
    3. Stormwater/wastewater permitting.
    4. Asbestos and/or lead inspections and preparing reports assessing environmental hazards.
    5. Identify and quantify asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous materials.
  • Designing and providing oversight of asbestos and/or lead abatement projects.
  • Development and revision of various EPA and/or OSHA regulatory written programs (e.g., SPCC, stormwater plans); complete annual EPCRA reports (e.g., Tier 2).
  • Managing projects while mentoring junior-level staff

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, Civil, Chemical, Geology, or related environmental degree.
  • CA P.E or P.G. certification is preferred.
  • 5-10 Years of relevant experience in the field of environmental assessment/remediation.
  • HAZWOPER training and certification.
  • Experience in preparing compliance reports by local, state, and federal requirements (e.g., RCRS, CAA, SWA, EPCRA).
  • Strong compliance knowledge to execute permit applications for air emissions, stormwater, and wastewater discharges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft program products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to travel to client sites.
