About the Opportunity

The Human Resources Generalist at Argen, will assume a central role in the day-to-day operations of our HR department. This multifaceted position encompasses a wide array of HR functions with a primary focus on talent acquisition (approximately 50% of role) and also includes employee engagement, employee life cycle management, benefits administration, policy enforcement, employee relations, and compliance. The HR Generalist will serve as a primary point of contact for our valued employees, collaborating closely with the HR team to foster a positive and efficient employee experience while ensuring the seamless execution of HR initiatives.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

Culture and Employee Engagement:

  • Acts as culture champions, actively promoting and embodying the organization's values and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Supports the design and execution of special projects and programs to address specific organizational needs and enhance overall performance and engagement.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Manages end-to-end recruitment operations, including job posting, proactive sourcing, thorough candidate screening, reference checking, and skillful offer negotiation to ensure the acquisition of top-tier talent aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers and stakeholders to comprehend staffing needs and objectives.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Develops and implements innovative and effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Supports in the temporary-to-hire process, identifying areas for optimization and implementing streamlined procedures to increase efficiency, reduce time-to-hire, and improve candidate quality.
  • Assists in negotiations with staffing agencies and external partners to secure favorable contract terms.

Onboarding:

  • Supports and administers procedures for employee conversions, ensuring a smooth transition from contingent staff to full-time employees, while overseeing comprehensive onboarding processes and conducting regular new hire performance reviews and check-ins to drive employee success and engagement.
  • Conducts new employee orientations and ensures a smooth onboarding process.
  • Processes the onboarding of new employees by preparing offer letters, ensuring completion of background investigations, and facilitating new hire orientation.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administers employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Assists employees with benefits-related inquiries and ensure compliance with benefit policies.
  • Assists in annual Open Enrollment processes and provides support answering employee questions and escalating issues.
  • Conducts thorough benefits reconciliation by comparing employee records, payroll data, and benefits provider statements to ensure accuracy and compliance, resolving discrepancies promptly to guarantee seamless benefits administration.

Performance Management:

  • Assists in the performance appraisal process, including goal setting and evaluations.
  • Supports managers and employees on performance-related matters.
  • Coaches Supervisors and Managers through creating learning and development plans, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and growth plans for their teams.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinates and facilitates training sessions and workshops as needed.
  • Assists in the development of employee development plans.
  • Assigns and maintains employee harassment trainings and role required trainings.

HR Reporting and Metrics:

  • Prepares HR reports and metrics for management review.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for accurately entering and updating data in the HRIS system including hires, terminations, salary changes, personnel changes, transfers, promotions, and all other system updates.
  • Prepares a variety of headcount, benefit utilization, compliance, and ad hoc reports by effectively collecting, analyzing and summarizing data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Employee Relations:

  • Assists in resolving employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances.
  • Promotes a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Maintains employee records and ensures data accuracy.
  • Escalates employment relations issues such as work complaints and harassment allegations to the HR Leadership Team and supports the investigation.

HR Policy and Compliance:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Stays updated on labor laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.
  • Participates in HR audits and maintains accurate HR records.
  • Creates departmental documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and process documents, and updates current documentation with process improvements.
  • Communicates Federal, State, Local, and Organizational regulations and policies to managers and employees in a practical and applicable format.
  • Reviews, manages and audits the form I-9 and completes the I-9 checklist to reflect necessary corrections and audit findings.
  • Prepares and processes compliance reporting to include but not limit to EEO-1, California Pay Data, Vets, and annual workers compensation audits.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and 3+ years' experience in HR related role, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications, with an emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of full employee life-cycle.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complicated topics and policies to diverse audiences with a focus on application and behavior.
  • Ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge and utilization of the most effective and efficient processes to complete tasks with a focus on ongoing improvement.

  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures and completing on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
