Qualifications for Employment

Education (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor's degree with course work or some relevant work experience or Associates Degree or comparable college credits with 3 years relevant work experience. Relevant work experience must demonstrate ability to perform job functions.

Employment Experience Preferred:
Previous experience with on line standardized testing preferred.
Experience in teaching /training, counseling, testing, admissions, recruitment, or closely related field preferred.

Pertinent Other:
Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects, provide follow-up, and meet deadlines is essential.
Strong organizational and detail skills essential.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong written and oral communication skills essential.
Must possess demonstrated computer skills with ability to effectively utilize MS Word and Excel in the application of job responsibilities.
Note: Position requires non-traditional work schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Nature and Scope of Duties
The Assistant Coordinator Student Services – Testing reports to the Coordinator for Student Services and performs the following duties:
Coordinates and oversees all aspects of center testing functions related to: TABE (pre and post); GED readiness, GED, Work Readiness Credential, Best Plus, special testing accommodations, and others tests as may be determined or needed;

Oversees the center’s GED testing function, serves as center’s GED test Coordinator, and complies with all requirements related to GED testing and test Coordinator functions as required by NYS SED including being approved by the NYS HSE State Administrator to serve as center GED Test Coordinator;

Ensures security of all test materials;

Establishes and updates center testing schedule/calendar for all testing functions to meet center and community needs;

Coordinates test space and equipment needs;

Participates in the administration of tests and serves as a test proctor as needed;

In association with other center staff, coordinates and assigns staff for exam proctoring;

Administers, scores and records tests and serves as exam proctor as needed;

Maintains detailed files and records;

Assures the collection and analysis of data as needed and directed;

Utilizes computer technology and software for test registration, data management, correspondence and documentation;

Reviews reports and data to ensure accuracy of information collected and stored;

Completes and generates reports in a timely manner as required or requested;

Communicates with staff, external agencies and test takers;

Works closely and cooperatively with and collaborates with relevant agencies, organizations and staff to achieve the objectives of the department and the center;

Develops and maintains positive relationships with all constituencies, projects a professional appearance and a positive, service-oriented attitude in all interactions;

Supervises staff as assigned;

Ensures appropriate training of staff assigned to testing functions and provides or assists with educating and training staff as needed;

Attends and participates in trainings, conferences, staff and professional meetings, and community group meetings or functions as directed.

Maintains currency with developments in the all aspects of testing utilized by the center;

Adheres to federal, state and local laws and institutional policies regarding the confidential treatment of student information;

Works in conjunction with the coordinator and center staff in efforts to achieve program performance standards;

Participates in interdepartmental initiatives to promote and increase student enrollment, success and retention;

Provides outreach and recruitment as needed and directed;

Provides department related services and conducts presentations to community members and students as directed or needed;

Assists as needed and directed in other center and student services related areas including but not limited to enrollment, college and career services; outreach, and retention;

Participates in center and departmental special programs and oversees and/or manages special programs assigned;

Upholds and supports college, center, and relevant external agency policies and procedures;
Identifies and purchases materials appropriate to departmental activities and functions;

Ensures timely execution of all departmental activities and functions assigned;

Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

This a full-time Management Confidential position. The salary is $50,000.00.
