General Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUCTIONS
•Write and edit digital and print communications for internal and external audiences.
•Develop content and direct creative execution to provide consistent, targeted, and impactful messaging for the university.
•Build and maintain solid partnerships with assigned internal university stakeholders to better develop, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet the university’s relationship building goals.
•Manage University-wide newsletters and communications, including writing content and building emails in various marketing tools and helping to launch the new Central State University Magazine in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications teams.
•Interview internal and external stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, donors, etc.) to develop strategic communications.
•Design communications campaigns to target specific audiences, plain an emphasis on campaign performance to help with recommendations for future university communications programs.
•Manage postings to the University’s website News and Stories, including writing articles, gathering and sizing creative assets, and crafting content that is optimized for search engines.
•Work closely with the Institutional Advancement, PR, and Marketing teams to ensure that content and messages are consistent with the University’s brand, communications objectives, and strategic priorities.
•Ensure all communications meet the style, voice, and tone of the University.
•Analyze data from various sources to monitor the impact of communications.
•Craft development, marketing, and communications collateral and ensure it is consistent with CSU’s brand and strategic objectives.
•Handle information with tact and discretion and recognize the confidential and/or sensitive nature of University business.
•Support the Director of Public Relations with press releases, media advisories, and press kits.
•Arrange interviews and manage a fast-paced content calendar.
•Create promotional and campaign-related materials.
•Generate quarterly and/or annual reports.
•Blog and provide content support for the University website.
•Support the development and editing of creative assets for social media.

Skills Required:
•Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
•Ability to capture and convey the voice of leadership and key stakeholders.
•Demonstrated ability to draft and manage omnichannel publications.
•Proficiency in a wide range of digital platforms, including websites, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), and design software.
•Willingness to adopt new technologies.
•Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
•Ability to think analytically and strategically.
•Capable of working well as part of a team and independently.
•Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with different deadlines.
•Ability to prioritize projects effectively as needs change.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements: 
•Bachelor of Science in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
•Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience working in a marketing or communications role.
