JOB DETAILS

  • Grant-funded position ending September 2027 with the possibility of extension with additional funding.
  • Full-time
  • Overtime-exempt
  • Salary range $55,500 - $69,000, paid biweekly.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

In compliance with the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) grant guidelines, ensures that low-income students with dependent children (student parents) are receiving adequate resources and guidance to support their success in college. Oversees the activities of the CCAMPIS program, ensuring that student parents are receiving adequate childcare services, increasing attendance and retention, and enhancing student parent's sense of belonging on campus. Provides academic advising to students as assigned. Nights and/or week-end hours may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Works with low-income students with dependent children (student parents) and informs them of services available.
  • Assesses students' eligibility for program services, arranges supports to meet students' needs.
  • Works with faculty, staff, and external service providers and agencies to coordinate and implement supports for student parents.
  • Acts as an advocate for student parents and participates in development of an educational environment that promotes their success.
  • Maintains and reviews student files for accuracy and CCAMPIS compliance.
  • Schedules and coordinates a Student Parent Advisory Group and Family Engagement Activities each semester.
  • Contributes professionally by serving, as appropriate, on college committees and task groups. Keeps staff and administration informed of CCAMPIS updates.
  • Participates in relevant professional development activities related to CCAMPIS, student services, and children and families.
  • Works with academic advisors to help provide advising to student parents and monitors their academic activity and progress.
  • Through advising, works closely with students, faculty, and staff to enable student parents to achieve educational goals and assist in achievement of retention goals.
  • Current on internal and community resources available for appropriate referrals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required. Coursework in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or College Student Personnel preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with families or adults in a community service setting preferred.
  • Understanding of issues faced by students who are parents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer experience required.
