Work Schedule:

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 12 with a minimum of $37,875 and midpoint of $50,500. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty by providing support to the students through enrolled in the CRSS/CPRS Program. Work is distinguished by the ability to this role will assist students as they navigate the program by connecting them to existing support services within the institution, academic support, and serving as a liaison to faculty for students support. General supervision is received by the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


1. Associate’s degree in Human Services, or related field, with a minimum of one year in CRSS/CPRS, or related area working with individuals in recovery, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Considerable knowledge of CRSS/CPRS best practices including history and current purpose of Recovery Support Specialist.
3. Considerable knowledge of grant reporting.
4. Considerable skills in collaborating and accessing required resources for program participants with a student-centered approach to support.
5. Working skill in organizing work to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
6. Working skill in training users and creating training documentation.
7. Working skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
8. Working skill in interpersonal interaction to be applied to a variety of individuals with differing education, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
9. Working skills in verbal and written communication.
10. Working skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.
11. Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends when required by the department’s needs.


Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 


Essential Duties:


1. Coordinate and deliver support to program students during the various stages of program (including: recruitment, orientation, practicum experiences and more)
2. Determine and allocate grant resources to program participants such as gas cards and child care services.
3. Support CRSS/CPRS students and faculty to share available resources (both within the institution and through the IDHS grant directly).
4. Coordinate the college’s assessment team in maintaining (and assessing) program performance and continuous quality improvement of the CRSS/CPRS Program.
5. Follow all college policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
6. Abide by grant guidelines and contribute to timely completion of reports, spending and other grant-related activities.
7. Work collaboratively with all campus partners including student support services and faculty to address student concerns.
8. Coordinate with academic advisors, student success coaches and wellness professionals.
9. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certifications.
10. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws.
11. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
12. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
13. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.

1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
