ESL Instructor
Job Description
La Esperanza is a non-profit dedicated to serving the Latino and immigrant communities of
Southern Delaware. Our normal hours of operation are from 8am-4:30pm, in-person at our main location, and afternoon/early evening at our partner sites.
Job Title: PT Bilingual ESL Teacher for our Pathways to Literacy Program
The PT Bilingual ESL Teacher will work under the supervision of the PT Bilingual Project Coordinator. Primary responsibilities will be to provide instruction to our Newcomers ESL and assist with development of ESL for citizenship. This role is grant-funded through May 2024, and contingent on future funding.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach conversational English skills for adults
- Passionate about language education
- Correct grammar and pronunciation mistakes for student
- Be punctual with high sense of responsibility
- The instructors need to prepare the teaching materials and lesson plan.
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Education, English or related fields.
- At least 2 year of teaching experience preferred (including homeschooling, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, and other experiences)
- Strong communication skills interacting with ESL/EFL students
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Fluent in English and Spanish required, Creole preferred
- Valid Driver's License
