The Opportunity

RISES (Resilient, Intelligent, and Sustainable Energy Systems) is a university center at the University of Central Florida (UCF) focusing on energy systems. To support its mission and extensive research activities, we are recruiting a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure earning assistant scholar. The position has an anticipated start date of November 15, 2023.

Responsibilities of the position include:

· Maintaining and supporting RISES laboratories.

· Working with high voltage equipment and related experiments.

· Assisting research projects that involve the use of various testbeds and supporting students and faculty in their outdoor field tests and other work related to their research projects.

· Involved in writing proposals for research funding.

· Administering research projects or conducting research for a specific program or project and publishing scholarly research papers.

· Training human resources involved in specific research projects and programs.

· May be involved in teaching and related activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Doctoral degree, or the highest degree in an appropriate field of specialization, from an accredited institution.

· A demonstrated record of academic research achievement.

· Professional experiences in the field of specialization commensurate with an appointment at the rank of assistant scholar.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experiences in research laboratory support, student training, and educational/research activities at academic institutions.
