Posting Summary	The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member at the assistant or associate professor level with a specialty in health administration. While topical areas are open, and candidates with a broad perspective are encouraged to apply, we would welcome scholars in the areas of health services and policy research, delivery system reform and payment policy, health information technology and management, and the healthcare workforce. Prior work experience is a plus. The faculty member will teach primarily in the CAHME-accredited Masters of Health Administration (MHA) program; other instructional duties will include the undergraduate health administration program and may include related graduate and undergraduate programs in the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy as dictated by competency and interest. In addition to its undergraduate major and minors in health administration and medical ethics & health policy and its CAHME-accredited MHA, the program is developing a doctorate of health administration (DHA) that it hopes to launch in the near future. The Rutgers MHA program was recently ranked #1 in New Jersey by U.S. News & World Report.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	The ideal candidate is required to show clear signs that she/he/they will: Have a doctorate or the equivalent professional degree in a discipline related to health administration. The position is open to a diverse range of disciplines including but not limited to health administration, health policy, health services, data sciences, economics, public health, decision science, management/leadership, medical ethics, or health systems. The candidate will have a completed doctorate by June 1, 2024. Establishing a research profile of refereed research in high-impact journals and through conference presentations. Demonstrate willingness to secure external grant funds and the ability to be a team leader on funded research supporting and supervising doctoral students and postdoctoral associates. Demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, with knowledge of inclusive and active teaching practices, as well as being facile in competency-based teaching and assessment. Demonstrate a willingness to network with external stakeholders and to communicate with the public via social media and other sources. Demonstrate a keen interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment of research and scholarship.

Overview	The Bloustein School brings together an amalgam of urban planning, public policy, health administration, public health, and urban informatics in a unique environment ideally suited to address the needs of the region’s communities and diverse populations. The School has eight research centers and institutes—including the Center for State Health Policy—and annually attracts approximately $25 million in external grants and contracts. Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
