Job Description

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Enrollment Management, Education, or a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in a higher education institution and two years of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree from an accredited institution. Five years of supervisory experience and experience using data mining tools and student retention software. Results oriented and ability to work well in high pressure situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership and oversight to all units within Student Services to include Admissions & Registration, Financial Aid, Advising, TRIO Student Support Services, Recruitment & Testing, and Records; Reviews enrollment data and trends and recommends strategies to address any enrollment, retention, and/or completion gaps; Develops and maintains relationships with schools in the College service area including Hertford, Bertie, and Northampton County Schools (counselors, teachers, Career and Technical Education coordinators, Early College, and Career and College Promise); Plans, directs, and participates in activities related to outreach, recruitment, and high school and university partnerships; Leads the annual planning process for the division; Develops goals and objectives for the division; Develops and implements activities to achieve these goals and objectives; Develops budget; monitors expenditures, reviews budget reports, and recommends budget changes; Screens, interviews, and recommends for employment full-time and part-time staff members; Develops appropriate procedures for the operation, maintenance, and management of the office; Supplies necessary reports of division’s activities; Supervises and evaluates all employees of the department; Serves as the college’s Title IX Coordinator for students; Serves as the college’s AVISO administrator; Serves on college committees.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities in the areas of recruitment, advising, student success, and customer service; A strong work ethic; Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; Knowledge of postsecondary institutional compliance; Knowledge of college operations, policies, and procedures; Skill in interpreting data and making data driven decisions; Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with faculty, staff and students in an appropriate and professional manner; Ability to relate to students from a diverse range of educational, economic, and racial backgrounds; Ability to make the college an integral part of the total community through relationship building and support of the objectives, goals, and mission of the college.

SALARY:
Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of North Carolina Benefits Program.
