Position Type: Part-Time, Minimum of 30 hours per week

Compensation: $23-25/hour

About RISE:
RISE is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children who have lost a parent to gun violence, as well as their caregivers and families. Our mission is to offer solace, community, and practical support in the wake of tragedy, ensuring that every child and family impacted by gun violence receives comprehensive care and assistance.

Position Overview:
The Administrative Assistant at RISE will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the organization, supporting our team and beneficiaries. This role involves a mix of administrative duties, database management, communication tasks, financial support, event assistance, project coordination, volunteer management, and fundraising efforts.

This is an in-office position, requiring a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

Orientation and Familiarization:Understand RISE’s mission, values, and organizational structure.
Review and stay updated with our policies and procedures.
Establish strong communication lines with colleagues and superiors.

Workspace Setup:Organize personal workstation and ensure all necessary equipment and software are in place.
Navigate and manage shared drives and documentation systems.

Administrative Support:Handle incoming calls, emails, and visitor reception.
Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and maintain office supplies.

Database Management:Oversee the donor/member database ensuring data accuracy.
Input donations, extract reports, and uphold data integrity.

Communication:Adopt the organization's email protocols, ensuring professional correspondence.
Draft, proofread, and dispatch internal and external communications.

Financial Support:Facilitate invoicing, expense tracking, and receipt generation.
Adhere to budgeting guidelines and master the financial software/tools.

Event Support & Fundraising:Understand and contribute to the planning and execution of RISE events and fundraising campaigns.
Assist with event logistics and coordinate with involved parties.
Actively participate in fundraising strategies, donor engagement, and campaigns.

Project Assistance:Offer support for ongoing organizational projects.
Engage in research, data handling, and proper documentation.

Volunteer Management:Understand the volunteer program, aiding in coordination and management.
Track volunteer hours, maintain records, and acknowledge their efforts.

Training and Development:Seek personal professional growth, identifying training needs.
Engage in relevant training sessions, workshops, and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, email systems, and database management.
  • Experience or interest in fundraising and donor relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for the mission of RISE and an understanding of the sensitivities surrounding gun violence.
