| The Institute for Earth, Computing, Human and Observing (ECHO) at Chapman University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow on microwave remote sensing. This postdoctoral position funded by NASA is available immediately for highly motivated individuals to join an interdisciplinary research team in ECHO at Chapman University and the successful candidate may begin in June. | Qualifications | |||
| A qualified applicant should have experience in satellite data processing and applications with programming skills. Applicants must hold a conferred doctoral or equivalent degree in atmospheric sciences, ocean sciences, physics, remote sensing, or related fields before the start date of the appointment. | |||
| Responsibilities | |||
| The successful candidate will work on instruments calibration and retrieval algorithms of spaceborne microwave radiometers for sea surface salinity, soil moisture, and sea ice and will analyze remote sensing data to infer the physical properties of oceans and the cryosphere and their interactions (e.g., the influence of ice melt on ocean salinity), and other duties as assigned. | |||
