Summary

The Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) seeks a customer-focused professional with experience working on fast-paced environments to support our human resources team. Exercising a high level of initiative, organizational skills and customer service with an ability to handle a variety of tasks with accuracy are key characteristics of a successful candidate. This position reports to the Human Resources Director.

Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment (OEM) division provides campus-wide leadership in executing the strategic recruitment, admission, enrollment, new student programs, records management and student financial support functions for the university. 

Responsibilities*

  • Provides administrative support such as scheduling interviews using video-conference tools and assists with onboarding tasks. Schedule orientation sessions.

  • Processes student and non-student temporary appointment hires, terminations and other HR transactions during peak times, and adds appropriate approvers.

  • Assists the HR team with offboarding tasks. Notifies appropriate internal partners with departure information and provides the termination checklist to the departing employee in a timely manner. Schedules exit interviews.

  • Provides administrative support to the OEM HR team including but not limited to event coordination and committee support. 

  • Serves as host and supports coordination for in-person and virtual meetings. 

  • Assists with other projects and tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma.

  • Considerable customer service experience and demonstrated knowledge in appropriately handling confidential and sensitive information.

  • Progressively responsible professional experience and strong attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of Zoom or other video conferencing tools.

  • Possesses a flexible, customer service oriented, problem-solving attitude and a willingness to work successfully in a team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Google applications.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse work styles and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in handling complex, confidential matters.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • Previous experience working in an academic or student services environment. 

  • Prior experience working in human resources and/or providing HR support.

  • Experience with University of Michigan HR and Financial policies and procedures.

Additional Information

Office hours are M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility available, requesting 20-30 hours/week (up to 40 hours).
