Job Summary

Community Roots Housing is looking for a paid intern that will be tasked with supporting Capitol Hill EcoDistrict staff on a range of projects, which may include:

• Public life planning
• Green stormwater infrastructure
• Biodiversity corridor planning
• Arts and cultural preservation and programming
• Food security

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research
• Survey design
• Data analysis
• Event Support
• Grant-writing
• Other tasks as needed or determined by staff

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfort engaging with racially and economically diverse community members
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently
• Some experience with qualitative data collection and analysis
• A basic understanding of land use, housing, public health, and transportation policy and/or the ability to quickly learn about policy issues in new areas
• The flexibility to attend virtual evening meetings

Preferred Qualifications:

Pursuing or completed graduate degree in urban planning, environmental policy, public policy, or public administration
