GENERAL FUNCTION AND JOB DUTIES
The College and Career Readiness department offers day time and night classes online, face-to-face, and hybrid to help meet the educational needs of adult learners desiring to earn a high school diploma or equivalent. We provide free classes to develop academic skills, earn a high school equivalency or adult high school diploma, increase civic engagement, develop employ-ability skills, and participate in various work-based-learning experiences, or explore career and post-secondary educational opportunities.
Candidates must be skilled in Mathematics, Language Ars, Writing, Science and Social Students. Strong technological skills and ability to follow teaching guidelines, excellent time management skills and experience teaching diverse populations.
The PT Instructor will work directly with the Program Director, Coordinator, and ABE/HSE program staff.
Typical daily responsibilities will include the following:
Plan, administer, and evaluate lessons for course- Document and track all attendance & assessment information
- Maintain accurate and organized files of student data and paperwork
- Track data of student progress
- Assist with digital document filing and course LMS
- Communicate with advisors and retention team regarding paperwork and updates
- Participate in staff meetings
- Give basic information about CCR Programs internally/externally.
Central Piedmont Community College is a comprehensive institution which places primary emphasis on excellence in classroom instruction. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate and maintain competence in each of the following areas throughout their employment with the College:
Anticipated hiring date: January 9, 2023
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am to 2pm.
Hours per week: Up to 29 hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience teaching Basic Skills or a related area

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
One year teaching experience in math at the college or pre-college level
Experience in developing curriculum
Experience with instructional technology in the classroom

Salary for this position is $30.67. Pay grade for this position is PT. Contract type is Faculty/Librarian. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours, evening and weekend assignments may be required of any position. All positions are subject to budget approval.
