Job Summary:
Our busy food bank needs a reliable, organized full time Program Coordinator to help manage the H.O.P.E. Meals for Kids Backpack Program, Warm Coats for Kids, A Simple Gesture and Christmas House. This position develops & strengthens new and existing programs of the Food Bank that provide services for our community members. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, a desire to work as efficiently as possible and have excellent communication skills. If you have worked in a fast-paced environment in the past and you enjoy interacting with a variety of personalities, we’re excited to talk with you. The ideal candidate for this position is an organized, detail-oriented individual. This job will require some schedule flexibility as well as driving a cargo van, box truck, forklift or power pallet jack when needed. We’re looking for someone who can operate effectively with little or no supervision, manage multiple tasks, and enjoys leading a team of volunteers. Are you looking for a fulfilling job? Overall Responsibilities:
- External & Internal Collaborations
- Foster managed growth of the programs.
- Coordinates Delivery with administration, staff, and faculty at schools & distribution partners.
- Collaborates with Food Bank staff and volunteers.
- Create & maintain relationships with community groups, agencies, and partners to help further the mission and visibility of the programs.
- Professional Interaction with all team members. Train staff and volunteers.
- Positive Team Player. Provide a fun and encouraging work environment.
- Schedule delivery of food to participating schools and distribution outlets.
- Establish frequent communication with participating schools and partners. Excellent phone, email, and written communication with all partners.
- Gather & maintain program statistics.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Dependable.
- Recruit and maintain a strong volunteer team.
- Contribute content for the Food Bank website, Facebook, and social media.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Leadership: Amplify the efforts of our executive team (Executive Director & Board of Directors) and help implement our vision. Cultivate relationships and develop & implement strategies among program areas. Passionate & optimistic. Inspires trust and respect. Mobilizes others to fulfill the vision.
- Team Management: Encourage and empower team members.
- Volunteer Relations: Encourage and support the involvement of volunteers in the SCFBS’s programs and services through a series of volunteer recognition efforts.
- Organizational Oversight: Oversees all programs, purchasing, organization and growth.
- Partner Relationships: Works with our key partners (Food Lifeline, Northwest Harvest, VOA, Skagit Valley Food Distribution, SNAP ED, Grocery Rescue partners, businesses, and organizations) to create a healthy, positive, and successful outcome. Maintains clear & timely communication and professional responses with vendors.
- Purchasing: Direct and manage orders, purchasing, and large donations for the organization. Communicates clearly with vendors, staff, and volunteers for warehouse management, driver pick-ups, and volunteer work groups.
- A Simple Gesture: Coordinates all aspects the operation of this vital donation program.
- Program Development: Provides coordination & support in developing programs and organizational plans with the Director. Carries out plans and policies authorized by the Director.
- Public Relations: Assure that the organization and its mission, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive manner to relevant stakeholders. Work closely with the Community Outreach Specialist to meet expectations and goals.

- Ability to coordinate up to 150 volunteers and staff.
- Ability to work long hours & weekends when needed. Embrace a “do whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude.
- Must be able to lift 30 – 50 pounds repetitively. Must be able to get licensed to drive our food bank vans, trucks and forklift when needed. Must pass a WA State background check prior to starting employment.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum 4 years work equivalent.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
