Full Job Description

The Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at The University of Alabama is seeking candidates for a Postdoctoral position. This position is available to individuals with research experience working with catalysts, including zeolites and supported metal nanoparticles, as well as in measuring reaction rates in gas-phase reactors. Applicants should have expertise in gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, and materials synthesis and characterization (e.g., by XRD, N2 adsorption, TGA/DSC and ICP-OES).

Successful candidates will hold a terminal degree in Chemical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering or Chemistry or a related field and demonstrate a record of academic achievement in research. The College and/or the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department will establish a series of structured merit-based evaluations. Initial appointments are for one year, with renewal contingent upon demonstration of research productivity and available funding.

This Postdoctoral position will conduct research in the area of catalysis and in situ spectroscopy under the supervision of Dr. James Harris and Dr. Tonya Klein.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
