Description

Washington County Community College is seeking a talented professional with a strong work ethic to fill a senior level position as Dean of Financial and Administrative Services. The Dean serves as the chief financial officer for the College, working closely with the President and College employees to ensure sound and reliable financial practices and procedures are in place and operational. Responsibilities include optimizing financial resources and operations, managing investments and capital resources, financial forecasting and developing strategic long-range plans in collaboration with the President and leadership team. The Dean is responsible for the integrity, reliability, and compliance of all finances of the College and ensures that all policies and procedures are being implemented as intended. The Dean requires exemplary analytical and critical thinking skills. Position analyzes financial reports to assist the President and leadership team in making data-driven, informed decisions. This confidential senior management position serves on the President’s leadership team and provides oversight and leadership for other financial and administrative personnel, such as accountants, Business Manager, and IT Manager.


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Administration plus eight to ten years of financial management, supervisory, and public administration experience. Desired: MBA degree plus five to eight years of financial management, supervisory, and public administration experience; Certified Public Accountant. The Dean is an ambassador who facilitates internal and external financial discussions on behalf of the College and must possess the ability to work with diverse constituencies. Human resource skills are essential, position informs and educates parents, students, faculty, politicians, vendors, management, staff, and private interest groups on financial matters. The ability to multitask while ensuring accuracy is a must. Must be able to constantly prioritize workload, delegate, and be a visionary. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of college initiatives, technical and academic instructional programs and trends, and their effect on planning. The Dean is responsible for ensuring College compliance with laws and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of Federal, State and Collegiate rules and regulations, grant requirements, reporting requirements, financial presentation practices, and program compliance issues. Understanding management styles, nuances in informational presentation and content, and the formal and informal political climate. Familiarity and consistency in the interpretation of bargaining unit agreements with clear understanding of the rights and responsibilities of all parties. Employing tact and communication skills in a persuasive and fair manner.


Salary: Confidential level 7, $76,921 to $93,203, salary commensurate with credentials and experience.
