Administrative Assistant II for Communications

Job Description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II FOR COMMUNICATIONS, Admissions, to join a team of six people who support MIT Undergraduate Admissions and Student Financial Services. The communications team works collaboratively with both departments to support internal and external communications. Will be responsible for a variety of work, including managing and paying invoices, tracking and restocking physical communications materials, managing digital assets, and supporting the email production and review process.  Will also support the admissions office by processing requisitions, verifying credit card charges, supporting the recruitment travel processes, and perform other administrative duties as assigned. Will report to the senior assistant director of creative initiatives, with secondary support to the director of administration and finance. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their communications expertise.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  high school diploma or its equivalent required; three years of administrative or project management experience; background in communications; attention to detail and following through on tasks; and strong command of English for the purposes of writing and proofreading.  PREFERRED:  bachelor’s degree, experience with contemporary communications technology, and an interest in working with and supporting students.  Job #24222-5

Hourly rate: $25.00 - 29.00, depending on relevant experience and education

this is a full-time, 35-hour/week position.  A hybrid schedule is possible with a minimum of two days per week on-site in Cambridge, MA.
