Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Program Coordinator for the Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development is responsible for the administration of the Sadat Chair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the program’s finances as well as managing the calendar of the Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development.
  • Supervising 2-3 student office assistants each semester.
  • Planning and coordinating the logistics for events held by the Sadat Chair including Sadat Forums, the Sadat Art for Peace Competition, and the Sadat Book Chats.
  • Coordinating the University of Maryland’s Critical Issues Poll with Nielsen Scarborough (UMCIP).

Other duties associated with this position include handling all program foreign and domestic travel arrangements and maintaining the program’s website and social media accounts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • BA degree.

Experience:
  • 2 years experience working in an office environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • MA degree and experience working in a higher education setting
  • Preference given to candidates with demonstrated proficiency in Kuali Financial and Priority Software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SPSS strongly preferred.

Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA no later than the hire start date. No visa sponsorship is offered for this position.
