Scope of Position

Scope: The Analyst, Structured Finance focuses on: (a) valuation and financial modeling for solar, battery storage, and hybrid projects; and (b) assisting in the financing efforts of those projects, including engagement with investors, banks, and lenders. The Analyst, Structured Finance will have strong quantitative skills (with an emphasis on valuation and financial analysis), organizational skills, knowledge of financial analysis and metrics, and a passion for renewable energy. Experience or exposure to renewable energy (particularly solar) is a plus. A successful candidate also will be team-oriented but self-directed, will demonstrate strong reasoning and communication skills (both oral and written), and will be able to prioritize and manage multiple work streams.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a standard office environmetn, as well as ability to travel to/visit Company offices and customer sites.

Working Conditions: Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment or remote work environments, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, CAD etc.), telephones, and general office equipment. Approximately 10% travel to client meetings, conferences, and offices of Company and affiliates (other than assigned office) may be required.

Location: This position will be based in any of our San Diego, CA; Oakland, CA; or Columbia, MD offices with two-day per week hybrid flexibility.

Responsibilities
    Financial valuation and analysis - Working with various teams across the organization (business development, project development, engineering), conduct financial modeling and analysis to be presented to key members of the EDF team (including Executives) in support of proposals, competitive bids, M&A opportunities, and more.
  • Transaction support for M&A and project financing efforts - Playing a role in the financing of EDF solar and solar-plus-storage projects with various financial partners. Duties include financial analysis, investor Q&A management, contract reviews, due diligence support, and data room management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree: business, finance, or technical degree
  • Advanced degree in business or finance preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in finance, business development, or technical fields; exceptional entry level candidates will be considered
  • Prior energy industry experience preferred
  • Familiarity with solar industry terms and financing contract forms preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Expert-level experience with Excel
  • Previous experience with financial valuation and modeling
  • Ability to articulate complex issues through succinct, cohesive summaries and presentations.
  • Working knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn renewable energy and storage offerings.
  • Willingness to embrace and defend a culture of respect, communication, and accountability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment.
