Description

NYU, Tisch School of the Arts, Department of Drama solicits applications for an Assistant Professor Faculty Fellow commencing academic year 2023-24. This is a three-year postdoctoral position, contingent upon review after the first year.

The Department of Drama has an expansive curriculum that combines the rigorous study of theatre history, dramatic literature, and performance theory with professional training in acting, musical theatre, design, management, devising, directing and playwriting and includes an Honors track as well as a minor in Applied Theatre.

Employment responsibilities include teaching a writing-intensive Introduction to Theatre Studies course and three additional undergraduate courses each year, as well as committee service.


Qualifications

 

Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. no earlier than 2018. We seek candidates with a demonstrated interest in innovative concepts and teaching methods in their chosen areas of study. Candidates with multiple teaching interests, comparative training, and whose work intersects with the areas of Asian studies, Latinx studies, Indigenous studies, disability studies, and/or environmental studies are particularly welcome.

Candidates must have the Ph.D. in hand at the time of the appointment. New York University is a Research 1 University with campuses in Greenwich Village, Brooklyn and Midtown Manhattan, as well as global campuses in several cities around the world.
