Job Summary
Postdoctoral Research Associate in Dr. Qisheng Pan’s Research Group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Engage in experimental design and execution of research projects related to transportation planning and engineering.
  • Write reports and articles for the research projects
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and conversations for the research group.
  • Support faculty to manage a research group of graduate students.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 4-5 years of experience working at the Ph.D. level

Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualified individuals should have a Ph.D. degree in urban planning or civil engineering with specialization in transportation planning, transportation engineering, transportation policy, or a related field, and be familiar with energy and environmental impacts of transportation systems, modes, and vehicle/fuel technologies.
  • The applicant should have a good understanding of the general operation of the transportation sector and of transportation systems within it, as well as various aspects of advanced vehicle technologies.

Standard office working conditions.
Special Conditions for Eligibility
  • Excellent analytical skills, preferably with experience in survey analysis, statistical tools, mixed methods, and machine learning.
  • Excellent quantitative data analysis skills
  • Computer programming skills in Python, C/C++, Java, or similar languages.
  • Experience with transportation planning and simulation programs such as TransCAD, EMME, CUBE, Visum, and statistical analysis packages like SAS, SPSS, R, and other relevant programs.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and participate in teams with diverse individuals. Commitment to social justice and supporting an inclusive and diverse work environment.
