Job Description:

The Department of Psychology at Binghamton University, State University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Cognitive Neuroscience to start Fall 2023. The committee is interested in candidates using cognitive neuroscience approaches to study cognitive processes such as learning, memory, language, categorization, attention, or perception. We are especially interested in candidates who apply neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI and EEG) to add to or complement existing strengths in the department. Additional research approaches such as computational modeling are also of interest to the committee. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an active research program including a strong potential for external funding.  The successful candidate will join a productive, enthusiastic and interactive faculty and will contribute to both graduate (PhD) and undergraduate (Psychology and Integrative Neuroscience majors) supervision and instruction.
The department provides a supportive research environment with excellent resources including lab space in a newly renovated building and an MRI facility anticipated for Spring, 2023.  More information about the department is available at www.binghamton.edu/psychology. Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a related field; postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred. Evidence of the capacity to develop a research program capable of securing external funding is expected. Teaching experience in Cognitive Psychology/Neuroscience, commensurate with level, will be of interest to the committee.

Requirements:

Successful candidates will have a PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field; postdoctoral experience is preferred. Evidence of a research program capable of securing external funding is highly desirable. Teaching experience is also of value.
