Part time Lecturer in Law

Location: Dubai

Salary: 15,000 AED – 25,000 AED per month

Faculty/ Directorate

The Faculty of Business and Law has an excellent reputation for teaching quality across various undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses. Excellent teaching is at the heart of our commitment to professional, creative and vocational education.

The Role requirements:

To develop and lead modules, support senior and junior colleagues and contribute to the development of the subject area. Provide excellent teaching in the relevant areas of expertise, applicants who can teach law across finance and management disciplines are of particular interest. Be an active citizen of the subject group and the department, engage with international collaborative partnerships, and work closely with local business communities. provide excellent teaching to the university in the relevant areas of expertise. We are particularly interested in applicants who can teach one or more of the following:

  • Contract Law
  • Law of Tort;
  • Company Law;
  • Intellectual Property Law;
  • Criminal Law;
  • Family Law;
  • Criminology.

Main duties and responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the post holder are to:

  • Contribute to the development of the subject area and related programmes of study.
  • Lead modules, plan and deliver excellent teaching that stimulates students' interest in the subject area and is relevant to practice.
  • Support students in their learning activities in the academic setting and practice.
  • Develop and implement suitable assessment strategies for both theory and practice components.
  • Establish a portfolio of research activities that offer a realistic prospect of publication (as evidenced in either track record or pipeline of papers).
  • Actively contribute to the development of international activities and engage with local stakeholders.
  • Perform other Departmental roles as may be required, including the tutoring of students, preparing relevant course reports and attending course boards as professionally required.
  • Participate in the life and governance of the department as required, including engagement in the development of the department in recruitment activities and corporate relations.
  • Carry out relevant administrative duties associated with the post
  • Participate fully in the University's Quality Assurance process relating to the discipline.
  • From time to time, as required, to contribute to the faculties overseas provision, including short intensive-course at partner institutions.
  • Experience in teaching a UK curriculum is a vital requirement for this role.

This job description reflects the primary duties and responsibilities of the post. However, the post holder may be required to fulfil other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the level of the post from time to time.
