Designs, updates information, prepares material for publication in magazines, trade journals, house organs, and related publications and supervises printing and dissemination of publications, print advertisements and miscellaneous materials.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Performance Requirements*
Updates information, designs and prepares layouts, and supervises dissemination of publications, print advertisements and miscellaneous materials to include catalog, schedule of classes, programs, brochures, manuals business cards, invitations, letterheads, etc.
Reads and evaluates material submitted for publication consideration
Secures graphic material from picture sources to produce pictures and illustrations
Organizes material, plans overall and individual page layouts, and selects type
Marks dummy pages to indicate position and size of printed and graphic material
Reviews final proofs and approves or makes changes
Prepares or directs preparation of news or public relations releases, special brochures, and similar materials
Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
* Performs other related tasks as required

Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Two (2) years of professional experience in designing publications and preparing them for print, including knowledge of layout and typography
One (1) year supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in desktop publishing
Adobe Software Certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of electronic media
Working knowledge of basic printing processes
Software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat
Excellent communication skills
Experience with computerized systems
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
