Full Job Description

Easterseals West Georgia, Inc. (ESWG), located in Columbus, Georgia, is looking for an outstanding individual with strong leadership and management skills to become its next President and CEO. This is an on-site position.

POSITION SUMMARY

The President/ CEO is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall leadership, administration, coordination and development of the program’s human, financial and capital resources. The President/ CEO assures that the mission, vision, and values of the organization are primary influencers in setting strategic direction for the organization’s growth and development as a quality provider of services for people with disabilities and their families.

The President/ CEO has the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as ESWG’s most visionary and strategic thinker to anticipate and analyze trends in the field of nonprofit leadership and to work with the board and staff to position the organization to grow and thrive.
  • Engage and work in collaboration with the board of directors on matters of governance, mission, vision, and strategy.
  • Lead a continuous process of strategic thinking that will enable the board and staff to examine internal and external trends and make meaningful changes in direction as needed.
  • Manage a $4.5 million and growing budget, including developing and managing annual operating budgets that reflect the strategic goals for the organization.
  • Generate revenue by creating new programs, services, and fund development events. Cultivate and develop relationships with current and new funders (foundations, corporations, and individual donors).
  • Provide leadership, development, and guidance to a staff of approximately 70 team members.
  • Instill a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organization performance standards.
  • Promote and increase public awareness and visibility of ESWG’s programs, and serve as the chief spokesperson, and advocate for the organization’s programs and services.
  • Lead efforts to create new partnerships, and collaborations with other organizations in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors that will help ESWG advance its mission.
  • Ensure all aspects of the program development and delivery are consistent and in accordance with standard operating procedures and any licensing and accrediting organizations.

  • Energetic, self-directed, and well organized to handle multiple tasks, select priorities, and focus on the issues that will contribute most to ESWG’s success and growth.

  • Naturally creative, entrepreneurial, and eager to find innovative ways to launch and sustain new programs and services.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

  • Multiple years of broad-based leadership and management experience with a demonstrated track record of leading and building an organization at the state, regional or local level.
  • A lead role in generating revenue (both earned and contributed income) for an organization as either a volunteer or a professional.
  • Measurable results in hiring, mentoring, developing, leading, and retaining staff.
  • Demonstrated success in leading staff and engaging board members around a shared vision.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience in engaging donors, projecting a positive community image, and public speaking.
  • Demonstrated success in positioning the organization in the marketplace to achieve its goals.
  • Able to effectively represent the interest of the organization to various media in the community.
  • Possess strong computer skills and a broad understanding of technology,

COMPENSATION

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualification. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package.
