Director, Early College Access Programs

Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide the Early College Access Programs with leadership and direction consistent with the strategic vision and the mission of the College. Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Masters’ degree required, degree in Business, Education Leadership or Marketing preferred. Eight (8) years of full time experience in college admissions, student services, recruitment, project management or related field required. Of the eight (8) years of full time experience five (5) of those years must be in a managerial capacity. Knowledgeable of and experience with Microsoft Office software and information systems, preferably Banner. Prior experience working with a dual enrollment program preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide leadership for Early Collage collaboration with outside organizations.
  2. Provide direct supervision and evaluations to assigned staff.
  3. Develop and manage operating budget for the ECAP as required.
  4. Select, supervise, advise, train and coach assigned staff.
  5. Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with CCBC’s mission.
  6. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  7. Oversee unit projects and initiatives.
  8. Represent and promote the college at networking events and high schools. 
  9. Conduct workshops and orientation sessions as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide leadership and direction for the college-wide Early College Access Programs (ECAP).
  2. Work closely with external partners to see that qualified students are enrolled to meet specific goals.
  3. Ensure the department’s delivery of outstanding service to students and other internal and external customers.
  4. Develop strategies to market and promote, in collaboration with College Communications, ECAP to populations at Baltimore County and other high schools, homeschool students, and other groups and associations which serve and/or influence current high school students.
  5. Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive recruitment and enrollment plan for current high school students, which satisfies the College’s short and long term enrollment goals.
  6. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local school systems and other external agencies. 
  7. Serve as the primary point of contact for Early College Magnet Programs.
  8. Work closely with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for, promote, and coordinate on-location credit and non-credit opportunities with high schools in the Baltimore region.
  9. Coordinate data collection for ECAP recruitment and outreach activities and success measures of students participating in assigned programs.
  10. Present to and meet with potential students and parents as needed to discuss opportunities available within ECAP.
  11. Continually improve and streamline the enrollment process for ECAP participants. 
  12. Serve on divisional and college-wide committees
